乡新村位于河婆街道北部山区，距县城约9公里，是一个革命老区，下辖上新村、学新村、营背新村3个自然村[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1958年修建横江水库时，村民从库区迁出，在此形成新村[1]。1973年从别处分出设立乡新大队，至1983年为止；1984年2月改设乡新乡政府，1986年又改为管理区办事处[1]。

社区荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，乡新村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2021年12月，广东省爱卫会授予乡新村「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号[1]。
