河婆街道是广东省揭阳市揭西县下辖的街道，位于县境中西部，是揭西县人民政府驻地，也是全县的政治、经济和文化中心[2][3]。辖区下设9个社区居民委员会和26个村民委员会[1][2]。2006年5月，河婆镇改设为河婆街道[4]。境内的河婆塔、三山国王祖庙等古迹，维基百科列为本地名胜[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

关于地名，博雅地名网记有一说：明初南关城遭兵乱毁坏后，一位姓何的老妇人在此摆摊卖茶，人称“何婆”；集市形成后仍沿用此称，因“何”与“河”同音，逐渐写作“河婆”[3]。

至迟到明崇祯二年（1629年），这里已有城寨，民国以前一直是集市[4]。新中国成立后，此地先归揭阳县第一区管辖；1965年起成为揭西县县治所在；1986年12月区建制改为乡镇建制，原河婆区并入河婆镇，合称河婆镇；2006年5月31日河婆镇改设为街道[4]。

2013年，街道获得广东省「教育强街道」称号[1]；2004年入选广东省电子琴技术创新专业镇[1]；2002年则被列为广东省中心镇[1]。

地理环境[edit]

街道在县境中西部。北面与五华县及良田乡相邻，东侧是龙潭镇，南侧靠坪上镇，西侧为五云镇[1][2]。百度百科记辖区约128.6平方千米，城区另有12平方千米左右；博雅地名网记作约102平方千米，两者并存[1][3]。

按博雅地名网的城乡分类，9个社区都属镇中心区；26个村中只有溪角村属镇中心区，其余多为镇乡结合区[3]。

百度百科记2018年底的数字：户籍人口13.38万人，户数4.01万户；农业户口者6.64万人，非农业户口者6.74万人[1]。博雅地名网另记，第七次全国人口普查结果显示人口为9.63万人，居全县各街道乡镇之首，该页注明为2021年6月[3]。两个数字口径不同，前者为户籍，后者为普查结果。

维基百科记录早期各姓的聚居地，如张姓在北坑、下滩一带，刘姓在菜仔园、坪山一带，蔡姓在客潭一带[2]。该页还提到马来西亚柔佛的加拉巴沙威华人新村、砂拉越古晋，当地居民多为河婆人[2]。

据百度百科，2017年的几项经济数字为：固定资产投资17.84亿元，规模以上工业产值73.91亿元，农业产值5.53亿元，社会消费品零售额25.73亿元，国地税收8124.85万元[1]。

自“百千万工程”实施以来，街道围绕“拔杆、拆围、增绿、硬化”四项任务整治城乡风貌。据街道办事处2026年9月发布的文章，沿S235、S238省道的7.1公里路段完成房屋外立面修缮约30万平方米、“白改黑”道路2.8万平方米、“三线”整治3千米[17]。

名胜古迹[edit]

天竺岩位于明山东麓，据博雅地名网在河婆镇南面4公里，始建于南宋嘉定年间，1989年列为县级文物保护单位，1995年开放[6][7]。岩址在宫墩村境内[18]。

河婆塔在河婆镇西北郊横江河畔，为八角七层青砖塔，清嘉庆十年（1805年）所建，残高28米，1984年由揭西县人民政府确定为县级文物保护单位[8][9]。塔址位于宝塔社区[19]。

三山国王祖庙又名霖田祖庙、明贶庙，位于河婆西南玉峰山下，据博雅地名网在河婆镇西南2公里。庙始建于隋；清康熙二十二年（1683年）曾扩建，1984年又经重建，现为广东省文物保护单位[10][11]。2023年，它被授予国家级「海峡两岸交流基地」[12]。庙址在庙角村[20]。

广德洞天在老虎岽山腰，河婆镇东北2公里，山中的广德庵清乾隆四十五年（1780年）曾重修，1985年列为县重点文物保护单位[13][14]。过路塘在县城东南约1.5公里，塘畔有清代建筑群[15]；1990年列为县重点文物保护单位[16]，景区位于客潭村境内[21]。
