港尾村在石母山东面，东面与鸟围村以界相隔，西面临双山村，北面与龙岭村相连。^[1]^[2]

人口民族[edit]

村中住着林、李、王三姓人家，以林姓为多。村域面积约一平方千米，人口1537人，耕地530亩，未注明年份。^[2]

文化[edit]

祖辈以农耕为本，村民农闲时破竹、削篾，编织竹笠，港尾因此以竹笠闻名，但收入微薄。改革开放后，村民多外出经商、办厂、做工。^[2]

村党政发动乡贤捐资建成一所学校，全村道路水泥化，户户用上了自来水。^[2]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历是：深浦溪的一条支流流入鸟围，流到此处为止，故名港尾。博雅地名网另以美名「广美村」相称。^[2]

清代此地属揭阳县磐溪都。1949年，它隶属揭阳磐西区下的港尾乡；1957年，桂岭乡设港尾大队；次年归磐岭公社。1986年设港尾村委会，延续至今。^[2]

港尾村在2019年9月进入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。^[1]
