凤光村在桂岭镇东部，东北面与月城镇相接，北与鸟围村相邻，南与东升村毗邻。[1][2]

凤光村为纯农地区，以芋头、生柑等作物为主。村里修筑全长2000多米的村道水泥路，投资200多万元；建成凤光小学新校址；修建新村公所；安装自来水管道，花费近100万元，使村民饮上了清洁的水。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

村庄始建于清康熙年间。民国时期属揭阳磐溪区。1958年归磐西公社的南凤大队，1972年分设磐西公社凤光大队；1983年改为桂岭区南凤乡，1986年设凤光村委会。[2]

2008年，桂岭镇委评凤光村为先进基层党组织。2019年9月，村子进入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1][2]
