玉步头村位于广东省揭阳市揭东区月城镇北部，临榕江北河，北接新亨镇，东接锡场镇。[1]

村子明朝创寨，村中两株古秋枫树树龄接近千年。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

村寨明朝创立，至今已有500多年历史。民国时期属揭邑磐滨都，1949年归磐东区五蔡乡。[3]

此后五蔡大队先隶属磐东公社，再并入月城公社；1983年划为月城区的五蔡乡，1986年设玉步村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村内有绣花厂等多家企业，农业以三高农业为主。[1]

特色种植包括草莓，村民也被引导发展电商。[3]

文化[edit]

村中有蔡氏宗祠。天福古庵为清代所建，近年重建，庵周围的榕树、槐树等几百年古树与之相映。[2][3]

2019年9月，玉步头村上榜「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单。[1]
