桂西村位于广东省揭阳市揭东区霖磐镇南部，南临榕江南河，距揭阳市区约17公里，辖有7个自然村，分别为棉林、巷前、西潮、后围、前围、义口和港口。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村庄先称桂林村，后于1951年改为桂西乡。1959年又称桂林大队，1961年成为公社下属的桂西大队，1983年复设桂西乡，1986年设立桂西村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

2009年末，农村劳动力约700人；全村有1900户，共9074人。同年经济总收入合计3812万元，人均纯收入4200元。[2]

2023年，霖磐镇启动桂西村与德中村共212亩垦造水田项目。[3]

荣誉[edit]

「第一批广东省卫生村」的称号于2017年10月授予桂西村，授予方为省爱国卫生运动委员会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

「坦公祖祠（卅岭与梅北武工队活动旧址）」位于桂西村，年代为清代，2023年列入揭阳市第八批文物保护单位。[4]
