霖磐镇位于广东省揭阳市揭东区西部，地处榕江南河北岸，东面以德桥河与月城镇为界，西面与白塔镇相邻，北面与桂岭镇接壤，南面隔河与普宁市南溪镇相望。镇名来自清光绪年间在三角渡溪边形成的市集，镇区商贸活跃，镇政府称之为“百年商圩”。[1][2][7][9]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，这一带隶属揭阳县崇义乡，分属霖田都和磬溪都的一部分。清光绪年间（1875年至1908年），两处村落在三角渡溪边合建市集，名为霖磐市，现称三角渡老圩，镇名由此而来。[9][10]

1950年代，这里的建制多次分合：先后隶属磐西区、磐岭区，1951年磐岭区分拆为磬西、卅岭两区；1957年一度分为桂岭、霖磐两乡，同年冬又合为磐西乡；1958年并入磐岭公社，1961年分出霖磐公社。[10]

1983年霖磐公社改为霖磐区，1987年改为镇；1991年12月起改由揭东县管辖。[10]

地理环境[edit]

全境由北向南渐低，为榕江冲积形成的平原，德桥河的支流贯穿全境，水网密布。镇内的内河与支渠分别长78.17公里和26.1公里。[2][3]

人口[edit]

截至2023年末，霖磐镇户籍人口为83918人。[1] 2021年第七次全国人口普查结果显示，全镇人口为6.65万人，在揭东区各街道乡镇中排第8位。[9]

经济[edit]

五金和塑料制品是当地的主导行业，据百度百科所载。[1] 规模以上工业产值2024年为4.97亿元，比上年增长12.6%；2025年达6.0616亿元。[4][5]

当年签下8个项目，有5个投入生产，固定资产投资额为3.25亿元。[4]

农业上，霖磐镇着力做强甜玉米、番石榴和水产养殖。[4] 商贸方面，镇区有福家欣、旺佳兴等综合市场，2021年又在五金城引入“粤汇城”，这一城市综合体占地2.3万平方米，其辐射范围覆盖周边40万人。[4][6]

省道234线、省道255线穿境而过，揭惠铁路设霖磐站，境内有霖磐高速公路出入口。[1][4]

文化[edit]

霖磐镇被称为“岭南水乡”“龙舟之乡”。[3] 桂东村、桂西村和东洲村是革命老区村，镇里计划整合三村的红色资源，传承乡村文化。[6]

2020年至2022年，霖磐镇连续三年入选阿里研究院公布的淘宝镇名单。[9] 霖磐镇于2024年3月获授「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」。[9][5]

名胜古迹[edit]

「坦公祖祠（卅岭与梅北武工队活动旧址）」位于桂西村，年代为清代，2023年列入揭阳市第八批文物保护单位。[8]
