牌边村位于埔田镇中心地带，属镇政治中心区。博雅地名网称它是全镇最大的自然村；村子东南部紧邻新规划的揭东经济开发试验新区，曲埔路与万宝路并行穿村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明崇祯年间已有牌边的称呼。1950年它成了独立的行政村，1959年改为牌边生产大队，1986年起设村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

村民的收入以农业为主，香蕉和竹笋的种植与加工逐步走向规模化。毛织加工业也在村里发展，村民投资办起了多家毛织企业。[2]

2024年9月，镇政府公示了牌边村2021至2035年村庄规划方案。[4]

十四五期间，村里的农贸市场完成升级改造，牌边片区的美丽圩镇项目也竣工验收。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2015年3月，牌边村受司法部、民政部表彰，被认定为「第六批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]

2023年11月，牌边村入选「广东“百千万工程”首批典型县镇村」。[1]

2025年3月，牌边村获「第七届全国文明村镇」称号。[1]
