洋边村位于玉湖镇南部，东临榕江北河，村中以花木、台湾水果种植和池塘养鱼为特色农业。[1][2]

人口与经济[edit]

村内共有七个经济联合社，依次为顶塔坑、赤兰围、老埔龙、新埔龙、玉斗、西门以及洋边主村。全村总耕地2768.4亩，山地2050亩，共1844户、8623人，党总支下设5个支部，党员138人，资料年份未注明。[1][2]

近半数青壮年外出珠三角务工经商，其中涌现出一批企业家。[2]

2009年村民人均收入为5233元。[1]

在广东省2018年「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单中，洋边村于2019年9月上榜。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明万历年间建寨。1949年属新亨区，1952年设洋边乡，1959年并入泽联大队，1960年分出，1983年由三个大队并为洋边乡，1986年设村委会。[1]
