锡东村在锡场镇东部，邻接锡西村，背靠藤吊岭，面向榕江，206国道穿过村域。[1]

村内的锡场林氏宗祠为广东省文物保护单位。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地隶属蓝田都。1949年时属揭阳十二区；1955年成为行政村，1979年改称锡东大队，1986年改设锡东村委会，延续至今。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

锡场林氏宗祠始建于明洪武十五年（1382年）。此后历代有过修葺，现存面貌大体为清光绪二十五年（1899年）修葺后的样子。祠堂为五开间、三进、两个天井并带拜亭的布局，具有潮汕地区特色。[2][3]

2011年，祠堂被评为揭东县的文物保护单位；2012年，经广东省人民政府公布为第七批省级文物保护单位。[2][4]

村内形成以食品产业和五金加工为主的支柱产业，种植业以麻竹笋为主。[1]
