潭王村位于锡场镇西部，与月城镇相邻，榕江北河中游在村旁绕行。博雅地名网称其为远近闻名的龙舟之乡。[1]

2023年11月，村庄被认定为「广东百千万工程首批典型县镇村」；2026年计划以潭王村典型村优化提升为引领。[1][4]

历史沿革[edit]

村落创立于元末明初。1950年设农民协会，1955年组建初级社，1962年转为高级社，次年改为生产大队；1984年设乡政府，1986年改设潭王村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年12月，村庄入选第二批国家森林乡村；2020年11月，获「第六届全国文明村镇」称号；2021年12月，被民政部办公厅确认为「全国村级议事协商创新实验试点单位」；2022年1月，经广东省乡村振兴局确定为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位；2024年4月，入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单。[1]

2025年，潭王村获评揭阳红色特色村，并入选广东省“百千万工程”首批典型村。[4]

古树公园[edit]

村内的坤山古树公园占地近5亩，呈“7”字形，园中有秋枫、榕树等10多种树木，共68棵，其中树龄100年及以上的20棵，超过300年的3棵。据揭东区政府网报道，村里派人清扫维护，并配建了文化长廊、健身器材和公厕。[3]

教育与文化[edit]

2008年，村里筹资近100万元设立奖教奖学基金会。[1]

潭王龙舟等本土特色文化是镇政府重点保护传承的对象。[4]

村中留有11处革命遗迹，蓝康红军小学即其中之一。这些遗迹与解放战争时期中共潮揭丰边区的活动有关。[2]
