谢坑村是玉滘镇的行政村，村名谢厝坑，由南宋时定居于此的谢姓先人开基，以谢姓聚居著称。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所载，始祖壶山公于南宋理宗时奉旨镇守潮州，北方元兵南下时，其家属迁居揭阳梅岗之东，择凤山南麓建村。此后子孙分居坑东、西厝等处。[1]

2004年建成全村自来水工程，村民饮水条件有所改善。[2]
