村内老市区已有二百多年历史。周边的揭东、潮安两县以及凤塘、登岗、玉窖三镇的人流与商贸都汇聚于此。[1][2]
名胜古迹[edit]
村内有揭东县重点文物雨仙庙。村中老干部组织在庙内设立活动室，并负责管理该庙。[2]
