村中农业以西洋菜种植为主，已形成较大规模的种植基地，产品远销深圳、丰顺、揭阳、汕头和潮州等周边城市。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清雍正年间创村，旧称翁厝洋。清朝时属梅岗都，1949年属梅岗区。1971年成立翁洋大队，1986年成立村委会，沿用至今。[1]
