北河村位于广东省揭阳市揭东区磐东街道西部，村庄以水稻、甘薯种植和五金不锈钢加工为主。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1360年，张姓居民自福建漳浦县迁至此地创村。该村先叫绵浦，因“绵”与“棉”读音相近，此后又叫棉浦。[1]

1951年设北河乡，名称取自北临榕江北河。1958年设为大队，1983年又改回乡，1986年设立村委会，沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

揭阳市在2009年把村庄认定为五金专业村。[1]

文化[edit]

村庄列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单，时间为2019年9月。[1]
