潭角村位于广东省揭阳市揭东区磐东街道东北部，东面临近榕江北河，水路往来较为便利。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

元代初年，许姓先人在磐溪都东北一带选址立寨，起初叫作潮临村，后来又称渡头村。[1][2]

1951年至1958年间此地组成潭角乡，此后行政区域虽几经变动，“潭角”之名始终沿用。1986年设立村委会，沿用至今。[1][2]

文化[edit]

潭角村在2016年10月被列入第五批广东省古村落，博雅地名网将其中的古村称作潭角古村。[1]

据博雅地名网介绍，村子三面环水，村内水系纵横，古村格局保存较完整。[1]
