村子辖区面积约1.8平方千米，居民5260人，1300户（未注明年份）。耕地约300亩，山地2700多亩。[1][3]

据百度百科，村民均为唐代黄峭的后裔。[3]
经济[edit]
村里以石板材生产加工和养殖为支柱。2009年村里产值约4200万元，村民人均收入5500元。[1][3] 目前约六成村民投身石材生产、销售与养殖，村子成为石材专业村。[1]
基础设施[edit]
村里实现了全村路网水泥化，建有埔尾小学，村中的埔尾农贸市场也服务周边村庄。村主道边建有水渠与绿化带，主要路段及巷道安装了路灯。[1][2]
