历史沿革[edit]
旧时，港角一带以做粪箕闻名，厚和（后河）一带做竹篾，庵前一带织鱼网，都是纯手工的传统工艺。改革开放后，居民走出去、引进来，经济发展迅速，一幢幢楼房与大型企业厂房相继建起。[1]
地理环境[edit]
社区位于渔湖镇中心路中段，北通和美社区，南临榕江南河。望江北路、环岛路与渔湖中路在区内交织，深水码头货运繁忙，是通往各地的重要枢纽。[1][2]
人口与经济[edit]
社区下设陈厝、袁厝、西庵、郭厝、港角、温内六个经济联合社，全区面积约2平方公里。博雅地名网记居民1189户、5395人（未注年份）；百度百科则载总人口5559人，两说不一。[1][2]
