历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，这一村落在明代宣德三年即已形成，百度百科另记其别名为港下村。[1][2]
创乡始祖林西川留下的家训，以忠孝与诗书为本。明代天启年间，乡人林春泽设立书田，用以奖掖本乡高中科第的人；他的长子林乙奇在明崇祯九年成为贡元，后任揭阳县儒学训导。清代乾隆四十九年，林懋烈受钦赐都察院右都御史的官衔；雍正年间，林邦杰出任广西苍梧县令。[1]
人口与文化[edit]
据《渔湖镇志》，民国时期渔湖镇的大学生有61人（含留学生11人），江夏村一地即占22人（其中留学生7人）。[1]
知名人物有林建中（办过揭阳真理中学）、林超（地理学家）、林受益（书画家）和林辉（香港中文大学教授）。[1]
革命旧址与文物[edit]
春泽公祠曾作揭阳县一区农会的驻地，百度百科称，春泽公祠的邻近处另有江夏会议旧址，其名为友梅轩，是市级文物。[2]博雅地名网则将中共揭阳县委第一次会议旧址与春泽公祠并列为市重点文物保护单位。[1]
