新阳社区是东阳街道下辖的社区，北临206国道，南靠环市北路，社区总面积约300亩，共224户、965人。[1][2]

经济与手工业[edit]

社区经济主要依靠租金收入，村民收入则以手工制造业加工芒花扫为主。社区引导村民以家庭作坊方式从事小工业制造，形成手工产业链，产品销往国内及韩国、美国、新加坡、马来西亚等地。[2]

2008年，社区的芒花扫手工制造业经办事处调查、区确定、市评定，获得「市非物质文化遗产」荣誉称号。街道介绍也记此工艺已列入非物质文化遗产名录。[2][3]

基础设施[edit]

社区已用上电和自来水，电视、电话也已接通，约45%的村民住进新房。临206国道的道路已全部水泥化，重点路段装有闭路监控。社区党支部有党员33人。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2023年5月，广东省爱卫会授予社区「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
