大西村位于榕江南河大桥南面，省道236线西侧，古时属揭邑磐溪都磐南乡的磐西村。[1]村中有田岛锈花机械、春达化工等企业三十多家。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年村中设农会，隶属安乐区；1956年归五屿乡管辖。[1]1958年改为生产队，归五屿管区；1959年起属五屿生产大队；1961年划入梅云公社五屿大队。[1]

1983年归梅云区五屿乡管辖；1986年有了大西村委会的设置，2003年又重新成立大西村委会，并入梅云街道。[1]

经济[edit]

村内有人口2950人、526户、党员53人（博雅地名网所载，年份未注）。[1]2008年，全村年工农业总产值为8900万元，居民人均收入为4950元。[1]

村中的企业主要生产机械、五金不锈钢制品与化工产品，带动了村民就业。[1]

文化[edit]

2019年9月，大西村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；广东省爱卫会于2023年5月授予大西村「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
