历史沿革[edit]
1950年村中设农会，隶属安乐区山东乡；1956年归五屿乡管辖。[1]1958年改为生产队，归五屿管区；1959年起属五屿生产大队；1961年划入梅云公社五屿大队。[1]
1983年归梅云区五屿乡管辖；1986年有了何厝村委会的设置，2003年又重新成立何厝村委会，并入梅云街道。[1]
经济[edit]
村内有1985人、398户（博雅地名网所载，年份未注）。[1]村子的经济支柱是五金加工制品业，此外还有蔬菜种植。[1]梅云最早的乡村工业区就是何厝工业区，以不锈钢制品加工为主。[1]
2008年，社区工农业总产值2007万元，人均收入4966元。[1]
文化[edit]
第八批全国民主法治示范村（社区）名单，2021年2月由司法部、民政部公布，何厝村列入其中。[1]2020年12月，何厝村入选「2020年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
2021年10月与2022年10月，村子两次列入淘宝村名单；广东省爱卫会于2023年5月授予何厝村「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
