梅兜村位于揭阳市区东部，是榕东街道的一个行政村，也是一个始建于南宋初年的古村落。村名与地形有关，村中有魏氏家庙与梅兜水乡古建筑群。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

村名与地形有关：聚落位于形似梅花的头部，古称「兜」，村名先称梅之兜，后为梅梓兜，清乾隆年间简化为梅兜。[3]

明永乐三年（1405年），魏东渊迁入村中，成为梅兜魏氏的始祖。清乾隆年间，魏姓成为村中唯一的姓氏。[3]

1993年，梅兜析出，成立梅兜村委会，隶属榕东街道。[1]

2019年9月，梅兜村入选2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。梅兜村于2023年5月获广东省爱卫会评定为「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网，村的现有区域面积约2平方公里，人口5600人，户数1301户。另载2008年全村耕地近400亩，人均收入5200元，工农业总产值一亿元。[2]

村内以东西工业区为基础，主要经营五金、塑料制品的生产加工与商贸，落户企业近百家。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内保存的魏氏家庙、志远轩与古榕组成了「梅兜水乡古建筑群」，2009年8月，这一古建筑群被揭阳市列为第五批文物保护单位。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2020年、2021年和2022年，梅兜村先后列入淘宝村名单。[1]
