高堂镇是广东省潮州市饶平县下辖的镇，位于县城郊区。镇境东南接黄冈镇，东北邻联饶镇，南与钱东镇相毗，西北与樟溪镇相连[1][4]。全镇辖12个行政村，另有高堂果林场[1][5]。地名的由来是：明朝洪武年间有梅州来的居民在山沟池塘旁落户，地名初称沟塘；清代建起大庙后，雅称「高堂」[1]。镇内的特产高堂菜脯是一种萝卜干制品，2011年获农业部农产品地理标志登记保护[8]。
历史沿革[edit]
秦始皇三十三年（前214年）秦军平定南越，此地属南海郡。义熙九年（413年）分东官郡设义安郡，此后这一带隶海阳县[3]。隋朝开皇十年（590年）撤销海阳县，开皇十一年（591年）始置潮州；唐天宝元年（742年）潮州改称潮阳郡，仍辖海阳县[3]。明洪武二年（1369年）潮州路改为潮州府，镇地仍属海阳县；明清时期这里是信宁都陈塘堡的辖地[3]。饶平置县后归潮州府管辖。民国元年（1911年）潮州府废止，此地随饶平县，1921年以后归钱东区管辖[3]。
1977年设高堂公社，1983年改为高堂区，1986年改为高堂乡，1992年撤乡设镇[3]。
地理环境[edit]
镇域地势平坦，黄冈河横穿其间，冲积出平原，土质肥沃[4]。大岭山位于镇西北，凤江的高堂河段流经山脚[1]。气候为亚热带海洋性季风型，平均气温约21.7℃，全年降水在1300至1500毫米之间[4]。
人口与语言[edit]
第七次全国人口普查结果于2021年6月公布，高堂镇人口为1.96万人，在饶平县各乡镇街道中列第15位[1]。百度百科载，2017年常住人口为24556人[4]。镇内通行饶平话，属潮州话练江小片[5]。
经济[edit]
据百度百科，2012年镇内工农业总产值为4.75亿元，同年人均收入6153元[4]。镇政府在国道324线旁的高堂大道两侧设置了10万平方米的工业投资区，并投入资金平整土地、架设水电与通讯线路[2]。
全镇现有菜脯加工企业7家，年加工萝卜2500吨，产值1500多万元[2]。

镇内的高堂大道与国道324线相接，汕汾高速公路经过镇区[1]。
名胜古迹[edit]
大岭山上的金光寺自1989年以来重建，寺内有两口泉眼，1995年由潮州市委有关负责人题名「岭东第一泉」[6]。百度百科载，镇内现存明清祠堂72座，另有明代安雅祠的石雕建筑[4]。前寮村一带有宋末抗元时期的古战场遗址[4]。
塘南村尖峰山腰的翁云叟墓建于明弘治十二年（1499年），墓道碑上刻有墓主的敕封衔，该墓为县级文物保护单位（2013年11月公布）[7]。
特产[edit]
2025年6月9日，高堂菜脯经国家知识产权局认定为地理标志产品；早在2011年11月22日，它已由农业部批准登记为农产品地理标志[8]。
荣誉[edit]
2026年3月，高堂镇被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇[1]。
