上黄隆村位于钱东镇境内，1951年称上黄隆乡，1986年设立村委会。[1]
据维基百科所载，庄长思于清康熙二十二年由福建迁入饶平县钱东上黄隆开基，村中庄氏历代多从事海上运输。[2]
上黄隆村列入广东省农业农村厅首批公布的「广东省一村一品一镇一业专业村」名单（2020年8月），主产南美白对虾。2022年1月，上黄隆村被广东省乡村振兴局列为「2021年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位。[1]
