据维基百科所载，施巨惠是施氏的始祖，明永乐二年（1404年）他自潮安彩塘镇东里村来到饶平，在钱东镇施厝村一带开枝。[2]
2019年9月，施厝村被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
