沈厝村位于钱东镇境内，1951年称沈厝乡，1986年设立村委会。[1]
据维基百科所载，沈姓入饶始祖沈鸿冈于宋末从福建漳州诏安迁入饶平，在钱东尖峰山下创立长富春村，此后改名沈厝村。[2]
2019年9月，沈厝村被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，沈厝村先后列入淘宝村名单。[1]
