大陇社区属钱东镇的镇中心区，原为大陇乡，1958年改称大陇大队，1999年改设居民委员会。[1]
据维基百科所载，村中吕氏的始祖于南宋绍兴年间（1133—1160年）迁居饶平，开创大陇村，此后全村以吕姓为主。[2]
2026年3月，大陇社区被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」；2025年5月，入选「2025—2026年全国示范性老年友好型社区创建名单」。[1]
2019年9月，大陇社区被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
