村名由「凤凰径」与「居楼」两个地名拼合，指通往凤凰镇的要路。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1951年为径楼乡，1958年设大队，1983年复为乡，1986年设村委会，1990年为管理区，1999年再设村委会。[2]

1959年底，径楼大队划出，与下安等大队一同设立新安林场。[3]

村子处于凤凰山游击队的活动区域，曾设饶平县工委会、卫生站及物资储备点。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，本村获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号；2020年曾被评为广东省森林乡村。[1]
