大新溪村在镇域南部，501省道穿村而过，村边有黄冈河的一条支流。[1]

村名由大东、新寮、溪西三个自然村的名称各取一字拼合而成。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

全村分为大东、新寮、溪西三个自然村，1951年曾设乡。[1]

清康熙六十一年（1722年）杨氏先祖自荆山村迁居溪西；乾隆年间张氏自大榕铺村迁入，建立新寮与大东两个自然村。[1]

「咸牛奶」是一种传承约200年的特产，已列为市级非物质文化遗产；县级保护文物有曰金楼、簸箕楼。[1]

荣誉[edit]

村内森林覆盖率为76.9%，2021年被认定为「广东省森林乡村」。[1]

2020年实现脱贫出列，发展单丛茶、咸牛奶等特色产业。[1]

2026年1月，该村获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[2]
