汤溪镇是广东省潮州市饶平县下辖的镇，位于县境中部山区，距县城30公里，省道222线穿过镇区。全镇辖13个行政村，镇内有汤溪水库，农产以水果和茶叶为主。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

镇名的来历与一处温泉有关：旧时溪中有温泉涌出，水温高达80摄氏度，此地因而称烫溪，后改称汤溪。[1] 早先此地属元歌都东洋堡辖地。[1] 据维基百科，明清时期此地属元歌都下饶堡洞桃社与东洋堡。[5] 民国以后划归浮山区，1952年为县属第四区，1957年设汤溪乡。[1]

1958年，汤溪先并入浮滨乡，当年又与浮山、新圩合为浮山公社。1960年复设汤溪公社，1961年其辖地划入农场，不久又回归汤溪公社建制。1983年设区，1986年改称汤溪镇，沿用至今。[1]

地理环境[edit]

汤溪镇地处饶平县中部山区，镇政府设在汤溪水库副坝西侧。[1] 在饶平县各街道乡镇中，全镇辖区面积排第8位。[1] 镇内蕴藏有大量瓷土和花冈岩，可供开发利用。[2]

2019年11月，汤溪镇获评「2019年广东省森林小镇」。[1]

人口民族[edit]

8500人为第七次全国人口普查的数字，2021年6月发布，在饶平县各街道乡镇中排第21位。[1] 概况页载总人口11656人，维基百科信息框载7,574人，二者均未注明统计年份。[2][5]

经济[edit]

全镇水果种植总面积1.5万亩，主要品种有青梅、荔枝、龙眼和橄榄，年产3000吨，是饶平县的水果生产基地之一。[2] 茶园面积为0.35万亩，每年产出160吨。[2] 水产以鳗鱼、青鲈和四大家鱼为主。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

镇内的汤溪水库又称饶平北湖，位于黄岗河中游。[3][4] 据博雅地名网，它是广东省第三大水库，水库面积2.5万亩，蓄水能力最大可达3.78亿立方米，装机2X4000千瓦，每年可发电二千三百万千瓦时。[2]

水库始于1958年9月开工，1960年12月竣工，此后多次改建加固，至1984年完成；为建库，耕地被淹1.02万亩，6041人迁离。[3]

1980年代起，库区陆续增添游艇、餐厅等设施，发展成景区。2022年3月开工的除险加固，动用资金2.31亿元。[3]
