1951年此地为三饶镇下的南淳乡，1958年归三饶公社南淳管区，1964年改称南淳大队，1971年划归新塘公社，1983年设南淳乡，1986年组建村委会，1990年为南淳管理区，1999年村委会重设 [1][2]。

据百度百科，明成化十三年（1477年）置饶平县后，村子属弦歌都下饶堡 [3]。1948年村里建立南淳乡民兵基干队，1949年民兵参与了饭包山战斗 [3]。

据百度百科，村中耕地1380亩，山地7175亩；全村茶园面积为2000多亩，另辟茶苗苗圃500亩 [3]。
