西石村是广东省潮州市饶平县新塘镇下辖的行政村，村后田洋有县级文物保护单位待诏摩崖石刻 [1][3]。

历史沿革[edit]

1951年此地为石壁乡，1958年称石壁大队，1975年改名西石、同时成立西石大队；1983年改为西石乡，1986年组建村委会，1990年为西石管理区，1999年村委会重新设立 [1][2]。

据维基百科，明正统元年（1436年）林日与林干泰两位始祖由福建平和县迁居饶平石壁乡，即今西石一带，后裔分衍至外宫村、顶厝村等地 [4]。

名胜古迹[edit]

待诏摩崖石刻位于村后田洋，一块巨石裂成三瓣，分朝东、西、北三面，朝东一面镌刻诗句，款识为「道光乙亥年」，作者为本村人林一铭 [3][5]。石刻面积约12平方米，字大约10×15厘米；县里于2014年2月7日将其列入县级文物保护单位名录 [3]。款识所署的乙亥一年，与道光年号不相合（乙亥对应1815年或1875年），年份存疑。

经济[edit]

2022年10月，西石村获广东省农业农村厅认定，列为「2022年广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」，产品为茶叶 [1]。

文化[edit]

2019年9月，西石村上榜「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单 [1]。

著名人物[edit]

林一铭（1776—1843年），原名林峥嵘，号小岩，生于西石乡。以原名于清嘉庆十八年（1813年）中进士，后任福建平和知县，著有《砚田轩课艺诗钞》 [5]。
