大埔背村位于饶平北部山区，辖7个自然村，村民以詹姓为主。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1951年，大埔背划入祠东乡，隶饶平县第二区（上饶）。到了1958年，组建祠东大队，归上饶公社；1973年改由饶洋公社管辖；1983年又设祠东乡，归饶洋区。[1]

1986年，此地改为大埔背村委会，隶饶洋镇；1990年设大埔背管理区；1999年又设村委会，沿用至今。[1]

地理环境[edit]

百度百科称，全村总面积273.96公顷，属丘陵地带，农田800亩、山地3878亩。该村曾修建下大塘水库，以解决灌溉问题。[2]

人口民族[edit]

百度百科称，村民以詹姓为主，户籍人口约2486人。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内保留八世祖祠（余庆堂）等历史建筑。百度百科还称，解放战争时期，此地曾为游击队提供活动据点。[2]
