历史沿革[edit]

祠东一带的建制几经变动：1951年称祠东乡，1958年改为祠东大队，1983年又称祠东乡，1986年改为祠东村委会，1990年设为祠东管理区，1999年改称祠东居委会，此后一直沿用这一名称。[1]

2026年3月，该社区被认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[1]
