历史沿革[edit]

1951年为马坑乡，1958年建马坑大队，1983年恢复马坑乡，1986年成立马坑村委会，1990年改为马坑管理区，1999年重设村委会，沿用至今。[1]

2019年9月，马坑村上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

镇福楼背靠西岩山，明永乐十一年（1413年）始建，椭圆形，三层半，设房屋60间，占地6936平方米。2002年7月，省政府将其列入第四批省级文物保护单位。[2]
