霞东村位于原霞饶乡的东部，村委会以此得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明洪武三年（1370年）立霞饶乡。[1]1951年分出霞东乡，1958年组成霞东大队，1983年重又称霞东乡。[1]1986年建霞东村委会，1990年改称霞东管理区，1999年重新组建村委会。[1]
2021年12月，霞东村获广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[1]该村在2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月三次列入淘宝村名单。[1]2019年9月，霞东村入选2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
