霞中村位于原霞饶乡的中部，村委会因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明洪武三年（1370年）立霞饶乡。[1]此后，1951年分出霞中乡，1958年组成霞中大队，1983年重又称霞中乡。[1]1986年建霞中村委会，1990年改称霞中管理区，1999年重新组建村委会。[1]

霞中村在2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月三次列入阿里研究院发布的淘宝村名单，其中2021年的名单由南京大学空间规划研究中心与阿里研究院联合发布。[1]2019年9月，该村入选2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
