赤凤镇位于广东省潮州市潮安区的西北部山区，西、北两面与丰顺县相邻，镇政府设在峙溪集镇。[1][3]

全镇有1个社区和17个行政村。百度百科载，截至2019年末户籍人口为13982人，面积88.57平方千米。[1][2]

境内丘陵起伏，韩江穿镇而过，林地广阔，水稻、林果与茶叶是主要的生产门类。[3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

民国以前，镇域属海阳县的登瀛都，清代改名登荣都；民国以后，先后归属登荣区、下荣乡、第十五区和第十一区。[5]

1956年2月，原第十一区撤销，划出赤凤、凤南、归湖、仙洋四个乡。同年12月，赤凤与凤南并为赤凤乡；1957年8月，凤南又从赤凤乡分出。[5]

1958年9月，赤凤、凤南、归湖三乡（仙洋并入归湖）合组归湖公社；1961年4月，归湖公社被拆为归湖、赤凤、凤南三个公社。[5]

1963年4月与1965年8月，三个公社又两次分合。1983年9月，赤凤公社改为区；1987年3月，赤凤区改为镇。博雅地名网的概况页写作1987年1月「撤区建乡镇」时改称赤凤镇，与沿革页的月份不同。[4][5]

1991年底改属潮安县。2013年6月，潮安县被撤销，改设潮安区，赤凤镇归潮安区管辖。[4][5]

地名[edit]

博雅地名网的地名由来一条写道：「赤凤」之名取自民国37年（1948年）在凤凰山区建立的红色政权。[3] 其概况页则说，凤凰山区的党组织在田螺湖村建立红色政权，时间写作1930年，地名由此而来。[4]

地理环境[edit]

地形为凤凰山西南部丘陵，丘陵高度在100米以上，村落散布在海拔30至800米之间。[4]

韩江由西北向东南流过全镇，境内约13千米；峙溪由东北流入韩江，境内约18千米，上游水力资源丰富。[4]

山地约10万多亩，1993年绿化达标，林木以杉、松、竹、茶、青梅、橄榄为主。耕地约5201亩，作物有水稻、甘薯、花生，也种生姜。[4]

人口与经济[edit]

名胜古迹[edit]

顺德居在白莲村，是清代古建筑。维基百科则把它列为潮安区的文物保护单位，并注明公布于2006年4月；博雅地名网记为潮州市文物保护单位，公布于2006年。[6][3]

农产品[edit]

赤凤红梅为果梅品种，系仲恺农业工程学院与潮安县农业局、农业工作总站合作选育，1994年在峙溪村的竹梅实生群体中选出优株，2011年6月经广东省农作物品种审定委员会认定。[7]
