砚田村是潮安区归湖镇下辖的行政村，位于镇驻地东北约9华里处。它东面可望笔架山，西边与新沟村相接，南面依着彩凤岭，北面与陈吊王寨相对。全村方圆2.64平方公里。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年公社化时，此地属铺新大队。1977年以村名定为「砚田大队」，1999年改称砚田村民委员会，名称沿用至今。[1]
姓氏宗族[edit]
村中李姓的始祖吾潮公于1560年（明嘉靖三十九年）从埔仔岭前迁来，李姓在此的创居时间则是明万历年间。[1]
人物与公益[edit]
侨胞李基智先生曾捐建家乡的供电网、乡政府一座、彩色电视机一台，以及学校课桌等。2002年，他又捐建了砚田大桥。[1]
文化[edit]
在2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单中，本村于2019年9月入列。2020年12月，广东省爱卫会授予砚田村「2020年广东省卫生村」荣誉称号。[1]
