明潭村在潮安区归湖镇，位于镇政府所在地北面约1.5公里处。它东靠大东山，与狮峰村背向而立；南边是溪口村，西边是潭头村，北边紧邻铺头村。全村方圆1.33平方公里，2020年有69户339人。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名由日潭、月潭两个自然村的村名各取一字组成。村子创立于明代嘉靖年间：日潭的林姓在清雍正七年（1729年）立村，月潭的吴姓在明嘉靖三十九年（1560年）立村，其始祖自福建云霄县迁来。[1]
1977年分出一个明潭大队，1999年改组为明潭村民委员会，名称沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
田地主要种水稻，果园则有橄榄等杂果。[1]
文化[edit]
2019年9月，村子列入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；2020年12月，被授予「广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
