佘厝洲村是潮安区江东镇下辖的行政村，地处江东洲岛东南侧，南面临韩江，周边与上湖、下湖、蓬洞、东前溪、西前溪相接。村子旧称邝翁洲，后因余姓人口较多而定名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，明万历二十八年（1600年）前后，村中肇基祖玉胡公一支自海阳县磷溪都仙美乡迁来。当时此地已有余、刘、黄、施、蓝、周、张、王等姓人家耕作，因余姓居多，且地处韩江冲积洲渚，遂定村名为余厝洲，后写作佘厝洲。[1]
1958年，村以主村名设佘厝洲大队；1999年改为村民委员会，此名沿用至今。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村子位于韩江下游冲积平原，地势北高南低，耕地成片平坦。村域面积0.48平方公里，耕地近500亩，土质为沙质。气候属亚热带海洋性季风气候，降雨年平均约1600毫米，6月至9月多台风。[1]
人口民族[edit]
据博雅地名网，村中户口1586人，在外约420人，旅居海外约480人。该网站未注明统计年份。[1]
文化[edit]
抗战时期，村中于1938年建立党支部。1939年，村中以“护村队”为名组织党员和进步青年，秘密建立抗日游击小组；同年秋，潮澄饶中心县委决定在本村建立抗日游击战争据点，村子一度成为该中心县委的机关所在地。1941年，“潮澄饶游击小组”发展为“潮澄饶敌后抗日游击队”。[1]
2026年1月，佘厝洲村获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」称号。[1]
