东前溪村是潮安区江东镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域南部，其东侧是蓬洞村，西侧靠西前溪村，南面是余厝洲村，北面与横坑村相邻。村名因村东有溪流经过而来，村中林姓为主。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，明万历年间，居庸公一支林氏自云霄迁来；其后庵埠宝陇的林氏见思公一支也迁来合并定居。村中原有王、杨、许、蔡等姓杂居，今仍有以杨、王、许、蔡等姓命名的巷沟地名。后来林姓逐渐成为大族，解放时村中只剩林、蔡两姓。[1]
1958年公社化时，本村与西前溪同属一队；1978年，本村以自身村名另设东前溪大队；1999年改为村民委员会，此名沿用至今。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村子离镇政府约3.4公里，澄江公路从村北通过，交通便利。耕地295亩，水域100多亩，土质以粘质土为主，适宜种水稻，池塘和沟渠较多，灌溉方便。[2]

经济[edit]
过去以农业为主，种水稻、甘蔗、花生、黄麻、地瓜和蔬菜。80年代末改革开放后，村中以水稻、香蕉和玉米、蔬菜为主，并大力发展小户养殖，还办起服装加工厂和花边加工点多家，又有小型建筑队、百货店。2005年，村民人均收入4191元。[2]
文化[edit]
解放前村中有一所私塾。1956年，江东文教部门在村中“继述堂”办起小宝塔小学，服务于余厝洲、西前溪、东前溪三村。1986年，华侨林开基倡议，海外侨亲集资，在村北五厝沟顶新建校舍，占地800平方米。学校现有学生100多人。[2]

2019年9月，东前溪村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；2021年12月，村子获广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」称号；2026年3月，东前溪村被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[1]
