仙洲村是潮安区江东镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域西南，西靠韩堤，南接渡头村，北邻下庄村，距镇政府约2公里。村中黄姓为主，村内有仙洲黄氏宗祠，1927年曾作中共潮安县委驻地。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，仙洲村旧有仙洲与柯厝巷两个自然村，仙洲为黄姓，柯厝巷为柯姓，新中国成立后两村渐合为一体。黄氏先祖黄和安于明弘治三年（1490年）自江西南丰双井头迁来，在江东乌井脚定居，那里原是堤外柯厝巷的浮洲。村名初取“沙洲”之意，后改称仙洲。[1][2]

1958年，村以主村名设立仙洲大队；1999年改为仙洲村民委员会，此名沿用至今。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村东有千余亩良田；全村西北高、东南低，田土以粘质土居多。过去村子在堤外，年年受韩江洪水侵袭。1964年冬，江东公社组织修堤，这道新堤起自独树村码头，止于仙洲阁美宫，长2000余米，使独树、上庄、中庄、下庄与仙洲五村的田宅都处在堤内。新堤于1965年春节前完工。[2]

经济[edit]

村中原有耕地约2400亩，大部分靠天吃饭。1952年土地改革后，村民冬季挖出总长约1500米的水利干渠；1956年又增挖支渠。1966年村头建起抽水机站，灌溉基本实现自流。此后村中又平整耕地、改良土壤，规划、种植、选种、管理与排灌全部统一安排。[2]

文化[edit]

仙洲人重视教育，新中国成立前后，村中有“文化村”之称。清代村中曾有人任府学训导，有人中乡试副榜。民国初年，村中有人留学日本，回国后任县令、省参议与大学教授。1995年，村里普及了九年义务教育。[2]

仙洲黄氏宗祠建于1927年，属近现代重要史迹，2020年4月被公布为第四批潮州市文物保护单位。1927年6月，中共潮安县委设立，驻地便在该宗祠内，此处遗址为广东省文物保护单位，参见本镇条目。[3][4][5]
