圆山村是潮安区江东镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域东南部，东临井美村与溪头洲，西望红砂村和上、中庄两村，南接龙口村，北靠圆山南麓。村由谢厝、余厝、赖厝、吴杨四个自然村组成，因域内有一小山名圆山而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，圆山地方古称员山，清代有“十八乡”之称，后因几经迁并，剩下如今的四个自然村。[1]

谢厝一支的始祖谢垂统于明崇祯二年（1629年）由潮州城南门一带迁往涸溪，其后裔南下，在急水塔西南一带立村。因村中当时有郑、吴二姓同住，后二姓迁走，只剩谢姓，遂以井美为村名，又称井美谢，后称谢厝。[1]

吴厝、杨厝原为两个自然村，20世纪50年代合并为吴杨厝，因吴姓人口多于杨姓，简称吴厝。吴厝一支的吴创伟，清初由福建梅州迁来。杨厝的先人明末由河南迁往彩塘仙乐，再迁江东仙洲柯厝巷，后分居红砂村，其后代又于清初迁入此地。余厝的余廷宾于清乾隆二十一年（1756年）自饶平黄冈迁到溪头洲，后迁入此地。赖厝的赖南田于清顺治十七年（1660年）自澄海莲花山下多年楼村迁到溪头洲，其子赖盛临再迁入此地。[1]

1959年建队，以地名总称命名为圆山大队；1974年恢复原名；1999年改为圆山村民委员会，此名沿用至今。[1]

地理环境[edit]

四个自然村从北到南排列，首尾相距约1公里，各村距镇政府均在2公里左右。耕地属韩江冲积土，较为肥沃，可水旱轮作，主要种植水稻、甘蔗、花生等。灌溉用的三合土渠长约五百米，于1998年由谢厝村出资一万元修成。[2]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网，2005年全村共412户，人口1991人。分村统计，谢厝、吴厝、杨厝、赖厝、余厝依次为175、92、121、71、63户，人口分别为681、439、254、322、295。全村耕地527亩。[2]

经济[edit]

村民过去多以抽纱、刺绣为副业。改革开放后，各村办起小型服装厂和珠绣加工厂，吴厝还办起一间玩具厂。20世纪80年代以来，水稻亩产平均约一千斤。2005年，四个自然村的年人均收入均超过4000元。[2]

文化[edit]

20世纪50年代，村中曾成立业余潮剧团，常在村里演出，也曾应邀到外地演出。[2]
