三吴村是潮安区江东镇下辖的行政村，坐落于江东洲渚中部，北邻洋光村，西邻独树与上庄两村，南端靠近江东中学。三吴之名指村中后吴、簟厝、砻臂崛三处自然村，三处村民都姓吴。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，旧时这一带共有七个自然村，合称“七社”。此后它们或合并或散去，清末只剩下三处村落。[2]

后吴一支自福建梅州迁来，始祖为吴千国，年代约在明万历年间（1573年至1619年）。簟厝一支的吴确守生活于明隆庆年间（1567年至1572年），原住海阳县登云都银湖，后迁到新湖定居；清末村中有四户大富人家，用竹簟装银元，因此被人叫作“四大簟”，新湖也由此改名簟厝。砻臂崛则因村前一口池塘形似砻臂而得名，其吴氏先人于明末自莆田迁来。[2]

1958年公社化时，本村归东光大队管辖；1974年，因以片村之名命名而另设三吴大队；1999年改为三吴村民委员会，此名沿用至今。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域约500亩，耕地约380亩，土质较好，宜作经济作物。[2]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网，后吴村现有113户、496人，传承至今17代；新湖村现有67户、311人，传承至今22代；砻臂崛村现有30户、126人，传承至今13代。这些数字都未注明统计年份。[2]

经济[edit]

村民多以农为主，过去种水稻，兼种甘蔗、黄麻、花生和小麦；改革开放后，村民主要种蔬菜和玉米，并培育农作物种子。1980年后村中陆续设起三家小型服装厂，约有300人在其中务工，以来料加工为主。2005年，村民人均纯收入4189元。[2]

文化[edit]

三吴村历来重视教育。1935年，三个自然村合办学堂，后改为小学，校址设在后吴的祠堂。1952年，小学并入东洲小学；1964年，该校分为东光、仙坪田与三吴三所，三吴的校舍仍在后吴祠堂。1998年3月，村里建成二层六间教室的教学楼，建筑面积约450平方米。据博雅地名网，1980年以来全村有大学毕业生29人。[2]

新中国成立后，村中业余潮剧社于1950年成立，吴锡炎、吴锡泉等人带头排演，常到周边村庄演出；1953年曾在浮洋镇塘东村的比赛中获奖。村中至今保存着原三正顺潮剧团的戏囊两只。[2]

1993年，潮州市政府确认本村为解放战争时期的游击根据地。[2]
