仙坪田村是潮安区江东镇下辖的行政村，位于江东洲渚中部偏东，北临韩江，与磷溪镇仙河隔江相望，西邻洋光村，南接三吴村。村民以洪姓为主，另有邱、张两姓。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，本村开村于明嘉靖年间，约在1522年至1566年之间，洪氏肇基祖耀省公自潮安磷溪上金鳌迁来。此前江洲上只有洋泼沼村李厝的人零星开垦，故称“李厝洲”。耀省公见此洲虽常遭洪患，但土地肥沃，便迁来定居，村名先称“溪坪田”，后雅称“仙坪田”。[2]

村民历经洪涝，先后自筑小堤、垒坝自保，形成小堤围。新中国成立后，政府年年拨款加固堤围，20世纪80年代末又在邻水堤坡铺设石护坡。村西北、西南一带旧有原堤，村民称之为“大堤”，它与圆山、溪头洲一带堤岸相接，使仙坪田、东洲、溪头洲三处同处堤外，合称“三洲”，仙坪田在上游，故又称“上洲”。[2]

1958年，村归洲东大队管辖；1982年，以主村之名重设仙坪田大队；1999年改为村民委员会，此名沿用至今。[1]

地理环境[edit]

全村耕地合计220亩，内含旱地120亩与水田100亩；另有池塘18亩。土层深厚，为肥沃的沙质壤土。地势较高，气候温和，雨水充足。[2]

人口民族[edit]

据博雅地名网，2005年底全村256户，计1067人，约为1950年人口的2.6倍。村中洪姓占九成以上，另有邱、张两姓。[1][2]

经济[edit]

村里常种的作物有香蕉、地瓜、萝卜，以及花生、大豆、甘蔗与黄麻。1964年，村内一块甘蔗田的亩产达到三万斤，全国闻名。村民善于剥麻，腌制的萝卜干也远近闻名。后因种植甘蔗、黄麻收益低，改种水稻为主。[2]

清代至民国，村中妇女已习纺织和刺绣。公社化后村里建立抽纱场，全村妇女集中劳作，全年收入达30多万元；20世纪80年代初，抽纱场关闭，改由各户自营。2005年，全村人均收入3200元。[2]

文化[edit]

民国时期，村里在洪氏宗祠办起私塾。解放后，村中设起六个年级的小学，适龄儿童皆可入学。1951年，本村与东洲、三吴合办小学，名为「东光小学」，起初设在东洲，后迁到本村。1969年，小学附设初中班两个。20世纪60年代末，东光小学分立，本村另办完全小学。[2]

2023年5月，村子获广东省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
