华美一村俗称下尾沈，位于彩塘镇政府驻地东南约三千三百米，为华美一、华美二两个管理区的驻地。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

沈氏于宋末从福建来此定居，《潮州府志》载其名为下尾沈。因“下”与“华”、“尾”与“美”的潮音相近，雅称华美。解放前后属华美乡；1956年合作化时取名华一农业社；1958年与华东联合组建华一大队；1999年起为华美一村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

村内耕地1871亩，有村办企业19家、个体企业20家，产品以五金、塑料为主。[1]

2021年12月，村获评「2021年广东省卫生村」。2019年9月，村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年至2022年，村先后入选淘宝村名单。[1]
