金东村与金砂一至四村、南方村同属金砂片区的六个管理区，村址在彩塘镇政府驻地南侧一带。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年初设为金砂三联乡。1956年定名群锋，1958年建群锋大队；因与归湖公社的群锋大队同名，1981年改称金东大队。1999年起为金东村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

2019年9月，村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2020年至2022年，村先后入选淘宝村名单。[1]
