院前村为片村，含院前、林坞两个自然村，位于彩塘镇政府驻地东南，紧邻潮汕公路东侧。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，村建于宋代，位于一所古庵院之前，故以此得名。1999年起为院前村民委员会，此前的1958年曾以村名称为院前大队。[1]

经济[edit]

2023年4月，院前村列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单。[1] 2020年、2021年和2022年，村先后入选阿里研究院公布的淘宝村名单。[1]

文化[edit]

村中的善福古寺建于宋代，清乾隆廿四年重修，1988年再次重修。[1]
